Skopje gets private kindergarten - an investment of India's Cel Global

India's company 'Cel Global' opened Tuesday the private kindergarten 'St. Paul' in Skopje's settlement 'Karpos'.

"This is the first, baby-step of Cel Global in Macedonia, but certainly not the last. As a company we have an investment portfolio we are planning to realize in Macedonia and the Balkans. We are poised to fulfill the nation's goal of establishing Macedonia as the regional Centre for Education," Cel Global CEO Amreesh Chandra said at the opening ceremony.

Labour and Social Policy Minister Dime Spasov said this was the first realized project of Cel Global, which "has serious intentions to invest in the country's educational system." The new kindergarten may take care of about 50 children, he added.

Regular advancing of the preschool system of early childhood education is one of the main priorities of the Ministry and the Government, Spasov said.

Thus far, four private kindergartens have been opened in Macedonia - three in Skopje and one in Gostivar.

There are 55 public preschool educational institutions that take care of 27.308 children.
