South stream agreement released

The Finance Ministry released Wednesday the agreement with the Russian Federation over Macedonia's involvement in the South Stream gas pipeline project at its website http://www.finance.gov.mk/files/u1/Spogodba_so_RF_za_Juzen_Tek.pdf

The agreement secures sufficient gas quantities for Macedonia, through a branch coming from Serbia or Bulgaria.

Macedonia signed the agreement in Moscow on July 23, with both sides assessing it as a good foundation for intensification of bilateral economic cooperation.

South Stream construction began last year. The branch under the Black Sea to Southeast Europe is to be completed by 2015, whereas the entire project is expected to finish by 2018.
