PM Gruevski meets Polish President Komorowski

Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski commended Tuesday in Skopje the traditionally good relations between the two countries, expressing belief that Komorowski's visit in the year when the two countries mark the 20th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties will give impetus to bolstering the bilateral cooperation in all spheres of mutual interest.

Gruevski voiced Macedonia's interest in intensifying the cooperation with Poland, in particular the economic one. In this respect Gruevski referred to the opportunities at disposal to Polish companies willing to invest in Macedonia, the Government Information Service said in a press release.

He also commended today's signing of a bilateral agreement on cooperation in the sphere of science and higher education.

Gruevski thanked Poland on its support of Macedonia's EU integration process. At the EU Council meeting last December Poland was one of the countries that urged for a decision to be adopted on launching of Macedonia's EU accession talks, Gruevski said.

He extended gratitude to Komorowski on Poland's continuous support of Macedonia's accession to the EU and NATO. In this respect he commended Poland's general position, namely that the integration of entire Western Balkan region with NATO is a precondition for stable Europe.

Komorowski on his part expressed satisfaction with the friendship between the two countries, being confirmed by the good political relations, as well as with the possibilities for advancing the economic cooperation. Poland is Macedonia's sincere friend and staunch supporter of its integration processes, Komorowski said.
