A government delegation, led by Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and Minister of Health Nikola Todorov, visited Tuesday evening the University Medical Center of Princeton to establish a healthcare cooperation.

The University Medical Center of Princeton is one of the most renowned medical institutions in the United States with respect to the reputation and expertise of its staff and its involvement in infrastructural investments in healthcare capacities.

The Macedonian delegation met with the management of the University Medical Center and attended a presentation of the newly-built facility, its infrastructure, equipment and protocols for patient treatment, the government's press service said.

The Macedonian Ministry of Health and the University Medical Center of Princeton signed a cooperation memorandum laying the foundation of a concrete collaboration and exchange of experiences. According to the document, a cooperation has been agreed allowing Macedonian doctors and medical staff to attend trainings at the Princeton medical center to improve their skills involving various medical methods.

The document is a resumption of the trend establishing cooperation between Macedonian health authorities and top medical centers worldwide.

"We are visiting hospitals in several US cities to sign cooperation memorandums. By now, we have established cooperation with 14 medical institutions in the US alone and with several others in Europe. Macedonian doctors are already being trained in hospitals in Huston, Los Angeles and Detroit," stated PM Gruevski after signing the memorandum.

Minister Todorov said the cooperation would strengthen the commitment to improve the education of Macedonian doctors.

"A memorandum of cooperation was signed enabling our doctors to attend trainings at the prestigious University Medical Center of Princeton. I expect the exchange of experience, knowledge and skills acquired and applied by our doctors in Macedonia to raise the quality of our healthcare protection," Todorov noted after signing the document.

Barry Rabner, CEO of the University Medical Center of Princeton, voiced satisfaction with the future collaboration.

"We are truly honored for being able to help in accomplishing our ambitious goals. We are prepared to share our experiences with you and to contribute to your ambitious plans," the CEO stressed.

On Wednesday, the government delegation is scheduled to visit medical centers in Chicago.
