MoI to hire 400 new police officers

The Ministry of the Interior (MoI) on Monday (Oct. 7) will issue an advert for hiring 400 new police officers.

Candidates will have to meet several basic conditions - to hold a Macedonian citizenship, to be aged 18-25, to have completed at least a four-year high school education, to be healthy and psychophysically capable and not to be convicted for office abuse.

Last year, the ministry issued an advertisement for employing 300 police officers.

"Together with the 300 candidates selected last year, MoI after closing the advertisement will get a total of 700 young police officers, which represents a vital renewal of its staff," Interior Minister Gordana Jankuloska told a news conference on Sunday.

Equitable representation of all ethnic communities and genders will be taken into consideration, she added.

The selected candidates will undergo a year-long basic training after which they will sign employment contracts with MoI.
