PM Gruevski meets with Macedonia s honorary consuls serving in foreign countries

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, accompanied by Deputy PM Vladimir Pesevski and the ministers of foreign affairs, transportation and for attracting foreign investments - Nikola Poposki, Mile Janakieski and Bill Pavleski and Jerry Naumoff respectively - held Wednesday in Ohrid a meeting with Macedonia's honorary consuls serving in foreign countries to present the country's investment conditions.

Speaking at the meeting, PM Gruevski said the government was strongly committed to attracting investments with favorable conditions that would allow the profit of the investors to be augmented and new jobs to be opened.

"To meet its goal, the government has been implementing systematic reforms making sincere efforts to enable development," Gruevski underlined.

He presented the investment opportunities offered to investors at the inaugurated technological industrial development zones, including income and profit tax exemption in the first decade, tax exemption from a reinvested profit and exemption from administrative fees.

"Macedonia's overall economic performances and business climate, in the midst of a global economic crisis and debt crisis in Europe, have been praised and noted by multiple internationally relevant institutions, agencies and newspapers dealing with monitoring, analysis, rankings and projections involving the economic factors of the countries".

Deputy PM Pesevski in his address noted that Macedonia had been carrying out a macroeconomic policy, maintaining a stable currency, low inflation and low public debt.

"At the same time, Pesevski stressed that the government has enabled a firm to be registered in just one day, the business with real estates has been mitigated and the process of running a business has been alleviated by implementing administrative guillotine".

The minister without portfolio, Jerry Naumoff focused on the opportunities for investing offered in the field of tourism and agriculture, modern industry and contemporary technology.
