Deputy PM Pesevski meets French ambassador Auer, special representative Richard

Deputy PM in charge of economic affairs Vladimir Pesevski held Thursday in Skopje a working meeting with France's ambassador to Macedonia, Laurence Auer and Alain Richard - a special representative of France's Foreign Ministry for Western Balkan countries.

The interlocutors discussed the countries' economic and political relations voicing satisfaction with the economic and political cooperation established thus far, Pesevski's cabinet said in a press release.

The business conditions offered by Macedonia to foreign investors, the benefits in technological and industrial development zones for investing as well as the government's activities conducted to maintain macroeconomic stability and improve the conditions for running a business were presented at the meeting.

The interlocutors confirmed the opportunities for strengthening the mutual collaboration, especially in the automotive industry, ICT, agriculture, food processing, pharmaceutical industry and medical equipment, stated the press release.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Macedonia and France - one of the most important economic and political partners of Macedonia. 

Also this year, French President Francois Hollande appointed Alain Richard as a special representative for the Western Balkans, who is tasked with improving the economic relations with the countries in the region.

A French-Macedonian business forum entitled "Economic Diplomacy at the Service of French and Macedonian Enterprises" is due to be opened in Skopje by Deputy PM Vladimir Pesevski and ambassador  Auer.
