Gruevski: Industrial growth shows that reforms yield results

The 5.1-percent growth of industrial production in September shows that Macedonia is moving in the right direction, whereas reforms yield positive results, said Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski on Thursday.

He recalled that industrial production has risen successively since March.

"Although the debt crisis and its effects have not been overcome in Europe, it seems that Macedonia enters a better stage, giving hope that the European economy moves in a good direction. According to projections, economy and industrial production will continue to rise next year", PM Gruevski told journalists after the PET Center ground-breaking ceremony in Skopje.

According to him, the increased number of workers by 1.3 percent in September, compared to the same month in 2012, was another positive signal.

"The GDP growth of 3.3 percent in the first two quarters of this year represents the fourth-largest in Europe. These results can be seen as a good trend, providing good perspectives for Macedonian economy and giving signals to foreign and domestic investors to realize their development plans", Gruevski underlined.
