Gas distribution in Skopje Clinical Center begins

Health Minister Nikola Todorov marked Sunday the start of the gas distribution in the Skopje-based clinical center "Mother Teresa", an investment worth Denar 48 million (EUR 800,000).

The project is significant from two aspects - it protects the citizens' health and results in savings.

"An era of enormous pollution of the center and the city comes to an end. About 4,000 tons of crude oil was used annually in the Clinical Center, releasing about 100 tons of sulphur dioxide in the air. This area was one of the main sources of pollution in downtown Skopje, but also the city in general", said Minister Todorov.

He added the environmental impact would be invaluable.

"Moreover, the economic aspect is also important, since the heating costs for the clinics within the center will drop significantly", stressed Todorov.
