PM Gruevski announces fresh foreign investments

Three foreign companies intend to invest in Macedonia, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski told reporters on Tuesday.

A large European company will invest in the telecommunication sector, while other two in the medical industry, the PM said.

"By the end of this or the onset of next month we expect for a large European company to announce its intention to invest in (Macedonia's) telecommunication sector and employ several hundred people. It plans to engage over 1.000 people in Macedonia for a period of about three years," Gruevski said after the promotion of an information-forensic lab at the Public Revenue Office.

Administrative procedures are underway involving another two companies (one from Turkey) that wish to invest in the medical industry, the PM said.

He expressed hope for the deals to be wrapped up in the next few weeks.

There are other announcements for foreign investments in Macedonia, Gruevski said.
