Stavreski: More intensive growth in industrial production next year

Deputy PM and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski expects industrial production to grow by year's end and more intensive growth to be recorded next year.

Asked about his expectations involving industrial production, Stavreski said Friday that increase in industrial production will contribute to realizing GDP's total growth, which is projected at approximately 3 to 3.5%.

"All the measures and policies, including the maintenance of low taxes and provision of affordable credits with Europe's economy exiting recession, are allowing Macedonia's industry to gain momentum and return in the positive zone. There is a favorable trend in the industry throughout the year, especially in the second half. Industrial production was revived and the number of orders was upped as well," the FinMin stated after inaugurating the reconstructed border crossing Blace.

Speaking to reporters, Stavreski urged banks to intensively take part in the economic growth by offering more loans to businesses.

"Given the fact that Macedonia's economy yielded good results this year - one of the best results in Europe - banks are now facing reduced risks. I expect them in 2014 to keep on intensively supporting the economy with credits," Deputy PM Stavreski stressed.
