PM Gruevski: Government to double support for development of tourism

This year the Government will double its financial support in comparison to 2013 for the development of tourism, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski told reporters on Monday.

The Government has earmarked Denar 150 million (about EUR2.5 million) for the Agency of Tourism and additional funds for international media promotion, the PM said.

The number of foreign and domestic tourists in 2013 registered an increase of 26 and 6 percent respectively in comparison to the previous year, which is a result of the many Government’s measures, such as granting subsidies to tour-operators, as well as supporting the international media promotion of Macedonia as an attractive tourist destination, Gruevski said.
