British IT company 'Endava' to invest EUR 2m and open 450 jobs in Macedonia

The British company 'Endava', one of the fastest growing IT Services companies in Europe with 1,500 full time employees, has established a development centre in Skopje, where it plans to employ 100 people in the next 12 months and over 400 people in the next 4 years. In the first phase the company invests EUR two million in Macedonia.

Endava's CEO John Cotterell, who held talks with Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski on Thursday, extended gratitude to the Government, other institutions and domestic IT companies on their support and interest in expanding the IT business in Macedonia.

"Our business success is leading to further expansion in Eastern Europe. Skopje has a great potential for the IT sector due to the excellent universities, highly educated workforce and excellent language skills. We have also been encouraged by the favourable business environment in Macedonia and by the open approach of the authorities and local businesses. We will build a strong team in Skopje and will create value by offering exciting IT careers and experience for both professionals and graduates, thus increasing the maturity of the market," Cotterell told a joint press conference with Investment Macedonia CEO Visar Fida.

The company's future plans foresee more investments and opening of such centers in Stip and Tetovo, where IT faculties are located, Fida said.

"Invest Macedonia is the primary government institution which is in charge of attracting new foreign investments in Macedonia. Our institution offers full assistance to foreign investors through our global network of offices by creating and adding value to companies with our broad knowledge and experience of the business environment and the investment opportunities in Macedonia. With this investment project we expect our country to benefit in many respects. Endava will bring quality and innovative practices in our technology sector and at the same time our tech graduates will have the opportunity to work for one of the best British companies in this industry. For these reasons I have a great pleasure to announce this investment project and welcome Endava in Macedonia," Fida said.

Endava was listed among the top 100 outsourcing companies worldwide and has a growth strategy focused on expanding its presence in Eastern Europe by continuing to grow its existing development and support centres and by opening new offices.

Through the location of its delivery centres in Eastern Europe, Endava is well positioned to support global clients in implementing complex IT projects, benefitting from a high quality of labour pool, time zone, language skills, close cultural alignment and good flight connections.
