Exhibit 'Paris I Love You' opens in Skopje Chifte Hamam Gallery

An exhibit of works of Macedonian artists, who attended two-month studies in Paris – the International City of Arts (The Cité Internationale des Arts) from 2002-2014, supported by the Ministry of Culture – was opened Monday in Skopje Gallery Chifte Hamam.

The exhibit 'Paris I Love You' is organized in honor of the International Francophonie Day (March 20).

"There is no better way to observe the Francophonie Day than this exhibit. The correlation with Paris and the cultural diversity of this exhibit becomes immortal and we may convey it to the future generations. Since its opening in 1965, the Cité Internationale des Arts has accommodated more than 15.000 artists, including about 100 from Macedonia," French Ambassador to Macedonia Laurence Auer said at the opening ceremony.

Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska presented Auer with a letter of gratitude for Simone Brunau, Honorary President of the Cité internationale des Arts, over her support in presenting Macedonian painters in that foundation, which offers opportunity to professional artists to develop an artistic work in France.

The exhibit is part of a myriad of planned events that honor the International Francophonie Day in Macedonia, which has been a member of the International Organisation of La Francophonie since 2006.
