Pesevski visits two quarries in the region of Kumanovo

Investments of more than 1.4 billion euros and close to 2,500 new jobs in the mining sector were announced Thursday by Deputy PM for economic affairs Vladimir Pesevski.

Visiting two quarries in the region of Kumanovo, Pesevski said bigger attention would be paid to the mining in the coming period.

"Recently the Government has awarded over 200 new concessions and bigger attention will be paid in the coming period because we believe that the mining sector has been put aside in the past few years," the Deputy Premier stated while visiting the Granit quarry.

It is very crucial, he added, every segment of the economy to be engaged as much as possible in order to register accelerated economic development in the country.
