Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki has met Tuesday with Torbjorn Solstrom, the political director at the Swedish Foreign Ministry.

At the meeting Poposki emphasised the importance of continuous and proactive Swedish support to Macedonia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Macedonia is fully prepared to begin EU accession talks in accordance with the EC recommendations. EU member states have key role in maintenance of the integrity and credibility of the EU enlargement process in decision making process. The international law and obligations should be respected including here the case of Macedonia, especially in the current geopolitical context, Poposki said.

Swedish side once again reaffirmed efforts and support to Macedonia's EU and NATO integration in context to stability of the region and wider.

They mutually expressed satisfaction from positive development of bilateral relations between the two countries, emphasising the interest and opportunities for boosting mutual cooperation in the sphere of investments, trade, health care, education and environment, Macedonia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
