FM Poposki addresses francophonie ministerial conference

Republic of Macedonia, being a member of the great francophone family, but also a perspective European Union and NATO member, is fully prepared to engage in the implementation of all measures for a better response to challenges that the francophone space is faced with on the road to democracy and progress, said Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki in the address at the 27. session of the Francophonie Ministerial Conference, MIA reports from Paris.

FM Poposki insisted on the role and contribution of the Francophonie in the process of transferring democratic values, tolerance, solidarity, human rights, cultural and lingual diversity.

"Francophonie member-states represent one-third of UN members, a fact that shows the role that the International Organization of the Francophonie can play in international organizations", he said.

In the course of the conference, representatives of 56 francophonie member-states will refer to developments of certain francophone countries in crisis or exiting the crisis, as well as reestablishment of democracy in these states.

At the conference sidelines, FM Poposki will hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from francophone states.
