Gruevski-Abe: Excellent political relations, strengthening economic cooperation

The Republic of Macedonia and Japan have excellent bilateral and multilateral relations. The countries have been improving the cooperation continuously in the past 20 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, PM Nikola Gruevski and his Japanese counterpart and host Shinzo Abe concluded at Tuesday’s meeting.

Interlocutors positively assessed high-level political meetings urging for improvement and strengthening of the economic relations, economic cooperation, trade exchange and cooperation in the field of investments, Government’s press service reports.

At the meeting with Japanese PM we have concluded that the political cooperation between Macedonia and Japan is excellent both bilateral and multilateral, through the UN support on different initiatives of both sides. I have presented the advantages for doing business in Macedonia and we have agreed that our coming here is justified because of country’s investment opportunities, Gruevski said.

We have discussed about other types of cooperation in the fields of education, culture, as well as in economy and i hope that all our efforts to attract more companies to come and invest in Macedonia will be fruitful, Gruevski said.

Gruevski informed about Macedonia’s strategic goals in relation to European and Euro-Atlantic integration, reforms carried out in direction to providing business climate for foreign investors and the economy in general.

PM Abe positively assessed economic reforms carried out by Macedonia pointing out the confirmed results and favorable conditions and measures offered are encouraging for the analysis and consideration for the Japanese investors in deciding for expanding their businesses.

They agreed that the cooperation through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) should continue in the future for implementation of mutual projects. Also the project for completion of collector system of Ohrid Lake was also accentuated.

After official visit to Japan, Macedonia’s government delegation led by PM Gruevski leaves for Korea.
