Special museum display for Aegean Macedonian refugee children

Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska announced Thursday that special display was to be set for Aegean Macedonian refugee children - victims of the exodus of Macedonian nationals from Greece during the Civil War of 1946–1949 - at Skopje Museum of Macedonia.

The activities to this effect will kick off this year, she told reporters during her visit to the Museum.

"The special display will meet all international standards. The project is part of the Government's and the program of the Ministry of Culture," she said.

The ordeal of Aegean Macedonian refugee children is a significant part of our history and I believe that they deserve a space where everything they went through should be presented to the public, she said.

The Cinematheque of Macedonia, followed by the Macedonian Television will soon present the first part of a documentary, dedicated to the Aegean Macedonian refugee children.
