The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bujar Osmani, had a meeting today with Manuel Sarrazin, Special Representative of the Federal Republic of Germany for the Western Balkan Countries.
At the meeting, Minister Osmani voiced his enormous satisfaction with the positive outcome of the Berlin Process Ministerial which took place last week and the document it produced in the shape of the Declaration on the Implementation of the Common Regional Market, as well as with the announcement made at the Ministerial of the agreements for the recognition of academic degrees/diplomas, professional qualifications, and passport-free travelling by using ID cards only throughout the region being announced to be signed at the summit scheduled to take place on 3 November in Berlin.
"The Berlin process undoubtedly continues to be a significant driver of the reform processes in our Region" – Osmani pointed out in that context.
Continuing, Minister Osmani relayed to Mr. Sarrazin the appreciation of North Macedonia for the unequivocal German support for the European integration of our country, briefing him on the ongoing status of the EU accession screening of the country as a particularly significant stage in the process of accession negotiations with the European Union.
Furthermore, Minister Osmani and German Western Balkans Special Representative Sarrazin expressed their satisfaction with the intense dynamics established in the political dialogue between the two countries, deeming it to be a building block for the strong and stable partnership between them.
"The fact that Germany is our country’s top-ranked political and economic partner testifies further of the commitment and interest of Germany in maintaining its presence in the Region" - Osmani said on that note.
Concluding their meeting, Minister Osmani and Mr. Sarrazin highlighted the important role that NATO plays in preserving both European and global security in the ongoing geopolitical context of instability, as well as the considerable role that the Republic of North Macedonia will be playing in the upcoming period as the country chairing the OSCE in 2023.
