Police seize 76kg of marijuana

In the framework of operation Adria, the Macedonian police seized early Thursday 76kg of high-quality marijuana destined for the Croatian market.

Minister of Interior Gordana Jankuloska said the narcotics were transferred from Albania, with the final destination being Croatia.

"Criminal charges have been pressed against eight individuals, of whom three Macedonian nationals, four from Bosnia&Herzegovina and one from Croatia. Six have been detained, while two are on the run", added Jankuloska.

According to her, the seized narcotics are worth about EUR 160,000, whereas its value on the black retail market could double.

The police, in cooperation with the Customs Administration mobile unit, detected the drugs while inspecting a freight vehicle "MAN" with Bosnian register plates at Skopje-Kumanovo motorway.
