Renovated facility of Criminal Police put into use

Minister of Interior Affairs Gordana Jankuloska together with Turkey's Deputy PM Bekir Bozdag opened Friday the overhauled facility of the Criminal Police - Scene and Forensic Investigation Unit.

The event was also attended by representatives of the donor, the  Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA), which provided Euro 80.000 for the renovation.

"The overhaul was realised with a generous support by the Turkish government, which is our partner in many areas, including security. The public in Macedonia has been informed that most of the police operations in connection to the fight against illegal drug trafficking are conducted in cooperation with Turkish police forces," Jankuloska said after opening the facility.

Their openness and assistance provided in the realisation of joint projects, she added, contributed first and foremost to bolstering the quality of MoI and strengthening the mutual partnership.

"I take this occasion once again to thank for the generous support and assistance from Turkey, which will continue in the future," Jankuloska stated.

Deputy PM Bozdag noted that Macedonia and Turkey were friendly countries with their cooperation constantly being upgraded in several areas.

"It is crucial the cooperation to be strengthened in the future. I would like to mention that our cooperation and support in assisting the Macedonian government will resume in the future," Bozdag said.

The facility, according to him, will be of great importance in the combat against crime.
