The Government has passed a law enabling the legalization of tractors, trailers and other agriculture machines, said Spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgjiev.

The law will solve the long-standing problem of farmers, but also increase their competitiveness through the acquisition of funds from the Rural Development Programme.

The law is set to enter into force in August, whereas the legalization process will be completed in one year.

Only about 5-10 percent of the approximately 100,000 agriculture machines in Macedonia possess ownership documents.

"We expect the legalization of least 25,000 tractors, 100,000 trailers, mowers, adjacent equipment and other machines by August 2013", stressed Gjorgjiev.
