Kicevo to get modern general hospital

Health Minister Nikola Todorov said the Government adopted a decision on Tuesday on new Denar 200 million investment for building a new modern general hospital in Kicevo.

During his Wednesday's visit to the General Hospital in Kicevo he said that the Government decided to announce a tender for construction in June and construction works to begin in August, while the entire project to be completed in 18 months deadline.

He said that the hospital would include all departments - gynecology, internal and outpatient departments, new emergency centre, dialysis unit - providing the Kicevo citizens with more quality health care.

- The facility is planned to be reconstructed according to the latest standards in health care, bathrooms in every room, new elevators, and parking lots, the Minister underlined.

- Besides the planned new jobs in the hospital we will also support specialisations of all general practitioners, he said.

The Director of the General Hospital in Kicevo, Ljupco Risteski, said that specialisations in gynecology and obstetrics were the most needed at the moment.

We expect the programme in 2013 to supplement the lack of specialists in anesthesiology, surgery, gynecology and other doctors needed in this hospital, Risteski said.
