Macedonia, Hungary sign MoU on advancing agricultural cooperation

Macedonian, Hungarian Ministers of Agriculture, Ljupco Dimovski and Sándor Fazekas respectively, signed Tuesday a Memo of Understanding for advancing, expanding the bilateral cooperation in this sphere.

Under the document, Hungary will support Macedonia's EU-integration process in the sphere of rural development. The two countries will also share experiences in the health of plants, management of forests, waters...

"Hungary fully supports Macedonia's accession to the EU," Fazekas said, commending the progress of the country's agricultural sector.

About 95 percent of the national legislation covering the agricultural sector has been harmonized with the EU standards, Dimovski said, pointing out that EC has been recommending opening of Macedonia's EU accession talks for four years in a row.
