Gruevski invites Brazilian companies to invest in Macedonia

Macedonian government team led by PM Nikola Gruevski Thursday presented Macedonia's investment opportunities to foreign investors at the business forum in Curitiba, capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Parana.

The delegation also includes Deputy PM and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski, Minister for Foreign Investments Vele Samak and Director of the Agency for Foreign Investments and Export Promotion Visar Fida.

Gruevski held meeting with management team of Parana Chamber of Commerce, which is the organiser of the business forum, which was attended by representatives of the companies in the sphere of IT, agribusiness, agriculture and tourism.

Gruevski invited representatives of the Brazilian companies to visit Macedonia to acquaint with the presented advantages and benefits offered by our country.

Brazil is large economy and there are many Brazilian companies that surpassed the borders of Brazil and South America and seeks new markets in Europe and other parts of the world. We address to these companies if they want to access European market that Macedonia is the real destination for such step. One can open a company in only 4 hours, procedures for construction of facility is realised in 3 instead in 21 steps and the country gives state aid for construction of facility in amount of half a million euro, Gruevski said.

Deputy PM Stavreski said that Macedonia can be used as a destination from where Brazilian companies would cover fast-growing markets of Russia, Turkey and Arab countries with their capacities.

In this way companies' transport costs will be significantly reduced and they will not have an obligation to pay VAT and customs for production inputs which they use them for exporting products production, Stavreski said.

Minister Samak referred to the presence of companies from automotive industry in Macedonia elaborating the aspects of price profitability in doing business in production of car spare parts in the country.
