Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia sign ICT cooperation agreement

Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia signed Thursday a cooperation agreement in the field of information and communications technology.

The treaty was signed by Macedonia's Minister of Information Society and Administration Ivo Ivanovski, the Montenegrin Deputy PM and Minister of Information Society and Telecommunications, Vujica Lazovic and Serbia's Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign and Domestic Trade and Communications Rasim Ljajic.

Under the agreement, the countries' governments will make efforts to advance trilateral cooperation in the area of information and communications technologies and to create conditions for joint investments in projects of mutual interest.

"The countries are making progress in Internet development and computer literacy. Macedonia by taking numerous measures is attempting broadband Internet to be made available to the citizens. Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia will share common experiences and ideas in a bid to make progress and to be on the same level as developed countries," Ivanovski stated after signing the agreement.

Ivanovski, who is paying a working visit to Montenegro, delivered an address at a ministerial session held in Budva within the international forum of IT achievements.
