The President of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, within the frames of his visit to Brussels, had a meeting with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.
The meeting was also attended by the First Deputy President of the Government in charge of European affairs, Bojan Marichikj, and the Minister of foreign affairs, Bujar Osmani.
This is Xhaferi’s first visit to Brussels in his capacity as Prime Minister and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, offered his congratulations on the new function, underlining that the forthcoming period is of exceptional importance for the country that is to conduct European elections and to maintain the European way.
During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on EU’s support in North Macedonia’s process of integration, as well as on the reform processes in the country which are of particular importance for progress.
Moreover, they concluded that the restored momentum of the EU for enlargement is welcome and should stimulate the implementation of reforms in the WB countries, while focusing on the Growth Plan and accelerated integration into the European Union.
At the meeting PM Xhaferi emphasized that the EU perspective remains the main motivator of changes and reconciliation in the region.
The interlocutors further underlined that North Macedonia has excellent relations with all WB countries. Last year, as the country chairing the OSCE, North Macedonia confirmed that it continues to be a credible partner of the EU and the international community.
PM Xhaferi expressed his appreciation to the President of the European Council, Michel, for his support in the process of Euro-integrations of the country.
